My mom taught us that charity begins at home

11.15.19

My mom taught us that charity begins at home, with those you know, those who could use a little boost every now and again.  I think she was right, but it took a while for me to realize that I needed to balance ‘care of others’ with ‘self-care’, see my earlier brief.   It is crucial that we look out for number one, however, it is just as essential that we look out for each other.  It all goes around.  Case in point, my recovery from recent surgery.Read More

Building Bridges Forges Good Business Relationships

10.16.19

Recently, during a routine visit to my personal jewelry designer, I was attracted to a pendent with a vibrant blue stone.  It turns out that kyanite is great for dissolving dysfunctional thought patterns and unhealthy connections.  As an ardent supporter of networking and a woman dedicated to creating connections it took a second, but I thought, yes, sometimes it is best to burn bridges.  Think Olympia Snow as she stepped down from the U.S. Senate, Carol Barz as she left Yahoo or Rosie O’Donnell resigning from “The View”.  Want a few details? Celebrating Women’s Leadership

09.20.19

First things first!  In the August brief I misspelled one of our associates’ names.  Tia Diggs. Tia has forgiven me, and, yes, she is divine.  The rest of the information was spot on.  Tia is the JBH&A associate who will be providing the office support for the Forum of Executive Women.  Just in time. as we are wrapping up the details for the 2019 Women in Leadership Breakfast, being held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on October 17th.  If you are a Forum member and haven’t registered yet, do it here.  Remember, you can register a guest too.  The Breakfast celebrates women’s leadership, unveils the results of the Women in Leadership 2019 Report, and salutes the top regional public companies with 30% or more women on their boards.

Glitter and Your Little Gleam

08.14.19

There is something about the Mae West quote above that reminds me of the women I work with.  We all have our particular ‘glitter’ that we exude and our individual ‘gleam’ which mixes together on and off the clock.  For the most part it creates a smooth running operation that provides the white glove concierge service with front porch ease that JBH&A is known for.Read More

Want to Get Organized?

07.29.19

The associates at JBH&A are organized and creative. Their roles and responsibilities are well defined, yet they are completely team driven, so much so that they often shrug off any individual compliments and will expound on the involvement of other associates. We understand that we are all in this together, and we understand that the circumstances that makes one associate productive and comfortable is good for the entire team.Read More
